Wednesday’s word: Library

Posted by Jennifer on 17 September, 2008 in wednesday's word

Today’s word is simple, but is it: Library.

What does library mean?

What does library  mean to you?

Have you ever asked your patrons/students what library means?

Wikipedia defines library as:  a collection of information, sources, resources, and services, and the structure in which it is housed: it is organized for use and maintained by a public body, an institution, or a private individual.

Is this what you think? Is this what your patrons/students think? There could be something we librarians are missing inteh definition. something we could offer or market. So think on this and ask your patrons, students, your community- what is a library and further more what is your library?
